It’s April 1st! But no, we’ll not be suggesting the best pranks for April Fool’s Day; we will be celebrating the start of Autism Awareness Month instead!

Children with autism can be hypersensitive when it comes to the essentials and objects that they use from day to day basis. Most times for them, bedsheets are not just bedsheets, and toys are not just toys. In relation to this, we gathered ten (10) things that will help children with autism focus, calm down, and relax.

1. Weighted Blanket

These blankets add extra comfort to children with autism. However, these blankets are only advisable for children four (4) years and up.

Price Range: ₱1000 - ₱2500

2. Stuffed Animals

It may seem like a boring inanimate object to you or to most, but stuffed animals can be these children’s best friends and confidants—one they highly trust and won’t go anywhere without. These stuffed friends help their imagination and sense of communication. You can provide their favorite animal, or a lot of them, and encourage your child to name it, too!

However, be sure to read the labels and look for the ones authorized for children.
